Many people start school without having a good understanding of how best to tackle their assignments, how to read the syllabus, how to take notes, how to prepare for tests or manage their test anxiety. This library guide offers resources comprised of research articles, popular articles, tips, tricks, strategies, and videos that can help you figure out what your system is. The only way to find the system or systems that will work best for you is to try some things out and see what clicks for you.
It can depend on what kind of learner you are, what the subject is, and the level of comprehension your instructor expects you to have. Studying for a quiz is different than studying for a test. Essay questions require a different kind of preparation than multiple choice. Writing a research paper is much different than studying formulas for a math test.
There is no need to struggle through your studies without help or guidance. Terra State Community College has plenty of resources and experienced staff who can help you find your way. And as always, if you need additional help please contact the library's staff for more resources or more explanation.
