Most of the items found in the OhioLINK resources are meant to be for education purposes. There isn't a lot of popular fiction or current music in the collections, but it's worth it to explore the different collections. While you will find many books, journals, magazines, and music recordings that can help you in your classes, there is so much more. We don't start learning when we step foot in the classroom, and we don't stop learning when we step out of it. Want to learn more about Greek mythology or Chinese composers? What about the biographies of famous and influential historical figures? Or maybe you want to take a self-paced course in learning Korean through folk tales. All of that and more are available to students and faculty through our membership in the OhioLINK consortium. Enjoy!
Ohio Library and Information Network
OhioLINK is a collection of libraries at colleges and universities from across the state of Ohio. These groups work together to provide information and services to all of us in what is called a “consortium” under the Ohio Department of Higher Education. As a group, the librarians and educators at OhioLINK are continually assessing the needs of students and institutions and working together to get us access to databases of electronic journals, research databases, historic repositories, open-source textbooks, and other information services.
This is a really great deal, particularly for smaller institutions like Terra State Community College. Our OhioLINK membership allows us to offer access to materials and systems that we wouldn’t be able to budget for on our own. We can connect students and faculty with the same resources that a student or instructor at our state’s largest and most prestigious universities.
